Recap: ASAE’s 2025 MMC+Tech Conference in Washington, DC

We just returned from an energizing few days in Washington, DC, where we attended ASAE’s 2025 Membership, Marketing, Communications + Tech (MMC+Tech) Conference on May 12 and 13 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.

Our team—Derek Rector, Matt Dzialo, and I, Tony Veroeven—represented Diamax and introduced attendees to Milieu, our platform designed to turn underused directories and buyer’s guides into meaningful, revenue-generating community hubs.

Conversations That Got to the Core

A major theme in our conversations was the idea of a center of gravity. Every association platform needs one. It pulls users in, keeps them engaged, and gives your community a reason to return. Whether you're managing a buyer’s guide, a professional directory, or a member portal, the question remains: What is its purpose?

We met with several associations that are starting to reimagine their platforms with this idea in mind. Many are considering 2026 as the right time to build something that feels essential to their members and partners. We’re excited to help shape that vision.

A Visit from Association Chat

One highlight from the event was a quick interview with KiKi L’Italien, who stopped by our kiosk to talk shop. KiKi runs Association Chat, one of the best places online for real conversations about the future of associations. It was great to catch up and share some quick insights about how communities thrive when they are built around purpose.
